The Marina rests near the still waters of the Bolgoda Lake. Known as one of the largest freshwater bodies within the Western district of Sri Lanka. The Bolgoda Lake is widely known for its natural beauty as the lush mangroves are known to be a tropical abode for many wildlife species.
The lake is a popular water sports and fishing hub, attracting locals and tourists alike. Bolgoda is located approximately 27km from Colombo, Sri Lanka’s commercial hub. The most ideal way to reach the lake in less than an hour is by passing through the town of Piliyandala and then turning on to Kahapola Road.

The Marina Bolgoda offers a range of thrilling, adrenaline pumping activities to partake in, from jet skis, tube rides, water skis, fishing, bird watching etc. The lake comprises of mainly fresh and brackish water and spans around 374 square kilometers from Anguruwatota to Piliyandala. It covers almost two-thirds of the Kalutara district.
The north of the lake is fed by Bolgoda and Wera Rivers which connects to the ocean from Panadura, while the southern end of the lake connects to the Panape Canal, which joins the sea through the Thalape Canal.
